TYPES OF FACE MASK

Face masks have been around for centuries and are an important part of a skincare routine. And a lovely way of relaxing, a bit of home pampering and grabbing some ‘me time’. Today, there’s a bewildering choice of face masks, all for different skin types, problems and ages. But what to choose? Here’s a quick summary of the main types and how Forever Living’s range of masks can help with different skin types:

Clay masks

They help balance out the oils in your skin by regulating excess sebum and tightening pores. They also help smooth and soften the surface of your skin, which make them ideal for oily, congested skin. Acneic skin is tricky as it overreacts to many things, so avoid oil-stripping ingredients.

Forever Marine Mask is perfect for problem skin. It contains marine mineral extracts for gentle cleansing, and honey and cucumber with aloe for moisturising.

It’s also wonderful as a hand and foot treatment – take a look here:

Gel masks

If you’ve got dry skin, you’ll want to avoid any ultra-drying mud or clay masks, even if you have acne. Look instead for a hydrogel mask, especially a sleeping mask. Sleeping masks are also perfect if you’ve got anti-aging concerns because most restorative work on your skin happens overnight.

Sonya Refining Gel Mask supports balance by controlling oil and brightening the appearance of skin. With a bounty of botanicals, fruit extracts and moisturisers, you’ll wake up to skin that looks brighter, younger and more balanced. It’s an overnight facial, working while you sleep.

Sheet Masks

Sheet masks are probably the most versatile category of face masks out there. And the best kind of sheet mask is a bio-cellulose mask. Bio-cellulose fibres have the ability to both absorb and donate moisture and liquids, making them the perfect carrier for delivering nourishing ingredients to your skin. Bio-cellulose masks cling to the skin, meaning they get into every little part of your face, and they won’t dry out during use.

Through a unique process , aloe bio-cellulose mask’s formula fuses pure aloe and seagrass with the bio-cellulose fabric to soothe, soften and condition skin. This environmentally-friendly mask has also been enriched by a moisturising serum of green tea and horse chestnut that rejuvenates dull skin by combating the signs of ageing and reducing the appearance of redness.

Deeply replenishes skin with powerful hydration

Revives dull skin to help counteract the signs of ageing and brightens complexion. This is also an overnight mask.

Tightening masks

For deep cleansing and tightening the skin. Forever’s aloe mask powder will give you a real non-invasive lift!

This ultra-fine powder contains a unique combination of rich ingredients that smooth, condition and cleanse the skin. Blend with the Aloe Activator to create a rejuvenating face mask. After you apply the mask you’ll feel it cleansing your pores, and once removed, skin will feel refreshed and conditioned.

STOP SABOTAGING YOUR DIET

If you really want to get the most from your weight management programme and have a healthier lifestyle, there are some things you need to stop:

1 Weighing yourself

Or at least weighing yourself so often. Everyone’s weight varies a lot from day to day, even at different times during the same day! Once a week is fine, once a fortnight is better. Try measuring yourself instead.

2 Saving up calories for treats

You’re not a dog! If you want a glass of wine, have a glass of wine. Just not the whole bottle. If you want a slice of cake, have a slice, just not the whole cake. But don’t go without nutritious food so that you can go out and get wasted on Saturday night. Foods are not synful (I’m sure some of you will get that).

3 Being a diet bore

It’s no fun to be out with friends who are eating what they want, and you can’t, is it? You know what else isn’t any fun? Being out with someone who keeps telling you that they are on a diet and can’t eat xxx. If you’re eating out, just quietly choose something tasty and sensible. If you’re at a friend’s, just ask for a slightly smaller portion because you’re not that hungry. Don’t bother to mention that you’re dieting, most people don’t care. And they’ll often tell you that you look just fine and talk you out of it. Especially if they’re carrying a bit of extra weight themselves. Just do your own thing and enjoy yourself.

4 Giving up if you have a wobble

It’s one day, or one weekend from your whole life. You have a long-term goal and plan. Pick yourself up and carry on. We’ve all done it. Just don’t use it as an excuse to quit.

Setting unrealistic goals

How long did it take you to put on the extra weight that you’re now taking off? So what makes you think that you can lose it all in three days/weeks/months? Take the long view. I know it’s hard when you don’t seem to see any results, but you’ll feel fitter, lighter and have more energy to enjoy life.
