Top motivational myths and why we don’t need them. No. 4 Bees can’t fly.

Their wings are too small

Bees can’t fly because their wings aren’t big enough to support their chubby little bodies. That’s what science says.  But the bee doesn’t know, it just flies anyway.    It’s an often repeated “fact” that the humble bumblebee defies all known laws of physics every time it flaps its tiny little bee wings and ascends to the sky.  Not true, of course.  Scientists and engineers know exactly how bees fly, even if the bees don’t.  Basically, if you calculate it all assuming bumblebees fly like planes, then sure, the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly. But, of course, bumblebees don’t fly like planes, they use a completely different technique.  In fact, bees and similar insects fly in an incredibly complex way that uses mini hurricanes!

Self- belief

None of this changes the importance of believing in yourself, even when others don’t.  Knowing that you have something remarkable, even when people around you can’t see it, is an amazing feeling.  So how can we be like the bee, buzzing around happily, knowing that we are high flyers?

Feed your mind!

There’s no magic formula.  We can’t live in ignorance like a fat little bumblebee.  We have to work on it constantly, reading great motivational books, listening to inspiring audio recordings, constantly feeding our minds with positive thoughts and affirmations.  We need to make this part of our daily routine.  If we make a habit of this, we can fly, even if our wings are little.  We’ll just do it in our own sweet way.

A good read

If you’re afraid to fly, there are loads of books and audio recordings but here’s a good one to start with:
